Real Madrid has advanced to the UEFA Champions League final after defeating Manchester City 4-3 in a thrilling penalty shootout on Wednesday.
The match ended in a 3-3 draw after extra time, with Karim Benzema, Rodrygo, and Vinicius Junior scoring for Real Madrid and Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, and Bernardo Silva finding the net for Manchester City.
In the shootout, Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois saved the decisive penalty from Riyad Mahrez, sending the Spanish giants to their 17th Champions League final.
The match was a rematch of last season's semifinal, which Real Madrid won 6-5 on aggregate. Manchester City had dominated the first leg of this season's tie, winning 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Real Madrid showed their resilience and determination to reach the final, coming back from behind on multiple occasions and eventually triumphing in the shootout.
Real Madrid will now face Liverpool in the final on June 10 in Istanbul.
